Bio:

Eleven years ago, my wife and I embarked on a new chapter, drawn to Canby by an intangible allure. A late evening stroll after dining at a local restaurant, through the quiet, tree-lined streets, a gentle breeze carrying the promise of spring, sealed our decision. Wait Park, bathed in a soft, ethereal glow of its lights, became a cherished memory, a symbol of the peace and safety we yearned for. It was in that moment, under the canopy of the night sky, that Canby captured our hearts.

We planted roots in this fertile ground, nurturing our children amidst a community that embraced us. Together, we’ve built a small business, coached and cheered at little league games, and immersed ourselves in local governance. Our journey has been intertwined with Canby’s, a shared story of growth, challenges, triumphs, and enduring bonds.

Canby of today is different to the town of yesteryears. We’ve witnessed its evolution, a transformation mirrored in our own lives. Yet, through the passage of time, the essence of Canby remains: a place where neighbors become friends, and shared experiences forge an unbreakable spirit.

I cherish the camaraderie, the diversity, the resilience that define our community. We’ve weathered storms together, celebrated successes, and learned from setbacks. Canby is more than just a place to live; it’s a tapestry woven with threads of countless stories, a living, breathing entity that continues to shape us.

Let us embrace the future with optimism, building upon the foundation laid by generations before us. By investing in our community, we invest in ourselves and our children’s future. Canby is our home, a place where dreams take root and aspirations soar. Together, we can cultivate a thriving, vibrant community that stands as a beacon of hope for generations to come.

Why am I running for Canby City Council

Canby deserves a city government that is fiscally responsible, transparent, and focused on enhancing our community’s unique character. I will ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely on projects that benefit the entire community. By fostering a strong local economy, prioritizing essential services, and creating an inclusive environment, we can preserve Canby’s small-town charm while building a thriving city for everyone.

Canby City Council Values and what they means to me:

  • Fiscal Responsibility and Financial Stability
    • Ensure results of Consultative Studies and Plans are not only communicated to citizens and other stakeholders within the city.
    • Ensure projects are viable and necessary to prevent cancelation of projects and wasting money.
    • Ensure future projects provide value for the majority of citizens of Canby.
  • Honesty, Ethics, Accountability
    • I will follow the City Council Policies and Operating Guidelines.
    • I will be respectful to city, community and business leaders that I work with and represent, even when we disagree.
  • Livability
    • The value of Public Services lives up to the investment.
    • When our local economy thrives, our community thrives. I support our local businesses and organizations as they are the ones investing in our community.
    • Hotel/Tourism to share our uniqueness with others outside our community enhances the economic development and livability of Canby
    • Add/Improve Sports/Recreation Facilities
  • Inclusive Community
    • Where all in the community are not only acknowledged but actively included and engaged in the process of planning and implementation of City Policy.
    • Encourage and enhance Civic involvement and education
  • Exceptional Service
    • In order to be a City we can be proud of we have to invest in our community in a manner we can be proud of. This will be reflected in how we serve our community.
    • Communication is important for our citizens. I will work to improve the communication and citizen feedback solutions for our city.
